Full Circle Curriculum

Today, an understanding of ecological issues is critical for the survival of our planet. Children especially need to experience themselves as being part of the natural world. Cuvilly is committed to creating a space that respects all of creation in an ecological balance. Our unique curriculum - developed on-site by Cuvilly's teaching professionals - is based on the premise that “all living things need food to live out the full circle of their days.

"Swimming beasts, walking beasts, talking beasts, flying beasts, trees plants flowers. All living things need food; all living things become food”. Thus, the earth itself is our primary classroom, as well as teacher. Our goal is to provide an early grounding for our students to experience themselves and an important contributing member of the entire earth community and like all other members are dependent upon a healthy earth for  sustenance

Preschool & Kindergarten

using the expansive Cuvilly campus which includes open fields, woods, a pond and gardens, as well as paddocks for our many farm animals, the Cuvilly Preschool and Kindergarten provides students with a variety of learning experiences to guide them in positive modes of self expression and prepare them for future school experiences.

SIMPLY KEEP IT LOCAL (SKIL) SUMMER

Ages: Going into kindergarten

through sixth grade

Every summer, children create their own adventures and discover wildlife at Cuvilly Arts & Earth Center's beautiful farm and reservation. Programs vary but the premise remains the same: What would life be like if we lived within a 100 mile radius; if we lived within a 50 mile radius; if we lived JUST on this piece of land?  Children are encouraged to uncover the awesome secrets of the Cuvilly campus  and become part of the story of this special place.
